Baghdad: Four individuals have been arrested by the Rusafa Investigation Court for allegedly forging seals belonging to personal status courts and several judges and using them to issue illegal marriage contracts.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Media Center of the Supreme Judicial Council released a statement revealing that the arrests were made after a tip-off from the Investigation Department of the Rusafa Anti-Crime Office. The information indicated that the suspects were operating near the courthouse in the Shaab area.

The court swiftly formed a team to investigate the allegations, leading to the apprehension of the suspects in the act of forgery. The presiding judge confirmed that the suspects had judicially confessed to possessing the forged seals and employing them in the issuance of unauthorized marriage documents.

Further actions have been taken by the court, including the ratification of the suspects’ confessions and the issuance of arrest and search warrants for additional individuals implicated in the case. These measures aim to complete the legal procedures necessary for a comprehensive resolution of the incident.
