Moscow: Russia and Ukraine have announced the successful completion of the second phase of their prisoner exchange, with 307 prisoners released by each side. This operation is part of an agreement negotiated in Istanbul on May 16, where both countries agreed to exchange a total of 1,000 prisoners over a three-day period.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the releases are set to continue in the coming days, following the framework established by the Istanbul agreement. This initiative follows the first phase, which occurred on Friday, resulting in the exchange of 390 prisoners, including 120 civilians, from both sides.

In response to these developments, US President Donald Trump remarked that the prisoner exchange represents a positive development and could potentially lead to a new phase of negotiation efforts aimed at achieving a comprehensive peace agreement between Moscow and Kyiv.
