New York: Russia’s Ambassador to the Security Council, Vasily Nebenzia, confirmed that Iraq has achieved stability and transformed into a modern state free from foreign interference. He expressed support for Baghdad’s hosting of the Arab Summit, underscoring Iraq’s important role in the region.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, during the Security Council session, Nebenzia highlighted Iraq’s stable state by referencing the imminent conclusion of the United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI). He emphasized Russia’s endorsement of Iraq’s sovereignty and rejected any external meddling in its internal matters. Nebenzia also welcomed the transition of UN facilities in Mosul to Iraqi authorities, further acknowledging Iraq’s modern state status.

Pakistani Ambassador Munir Akram also voiced support for Iraq’s stability, unity, and sovereignty, expressing solidarity with the Iraqi government and citizens in their quest for prosperity. Additionally, representatives from Britain, Somalia, and Panama collectively endorsed Iraq’s efforts in promoting stability, tackling climate change, and facilitating the return of displaced Iraqis.
