Moscow: The Russian Commissioner for Children’s Rights, Maria Lvova-Belova, announced the reunification of two girls with their mother in Russia, who were handed over by Ukraine through Qatari mediation.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, “Two sisters (12 years old) who were in Ukraine were reunited with their mother in Russia, with the help of the Office of the Commissioner for Children’s Rights in Russia and through the mediation of the State of Qatar.”

The Russian Commissioner for Children’s Rights, Maria Lvova-Belova, met with the two girls, and they were handed over to their family at the Qatari Embassy in Moscow.

The statement indicated: “The two girls were living with their grandmother in Ukraine, and their mother visited them regularly. Due to the dire security situation, the mother was no longer able to go to Ukraine and take her daughters. With the help of the Office of the Russian Commissioner for Children’s Rights and the State of Qatar, the family was reunited.”

It is worth noting that with the help of the Commissioner for Children’s Rights, 17 children from 11 families were reunited with their relatives in Russia, and 95 children from 75 families were reunited with their relatives in Ukraine and other countries.
