Moscow: Russian air defense systems shot down 155 Ukrainian drones overnight. The Russian Ministry of Defense stated on Friday that its air defense systems intercepted and destroyed these drones over Russian territory.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry of Defense released a statement detailing the overnight activity: "During the night, on-duty air defense systems intercepted and destroyed 155 Ukrainian drones over the territories of the Tver, Tula, Smolensk, Kaluga, Belgorod, Bryansk, Kursk, and Rostov regions, the Krasnodar Territory, the Moscow Region, the Republic of Crimea, and over the waters of the Sea of Azov and the Black Sea."
The statement further noted that Russian air defense forces were also active during the day, successfully shooting down 11 guided bombs and 631 drones belonging to the Ukrainian armed forces. The ongoing conflict has seen frequent aerial engagements, and this latest report highlights the scale of drone activity in the region.
