Moscow: The Russian Defense Ministry announced the liberation of two new towns in the Kharkiv region in northeastern Ukraine and the Donetsk Republic, which joined Russia, and the infliction of heavy human and material losses on Kyiv forces within 24 hours.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Russian Defense Ministry’s daily statement on the progress of the military operation in Ukraine detailed significant developments. The Northern Forces reinforced their positions in the Sumy region of northeastern Ukraine, inflicting 175 casualties on Ukrainian forces in the adjacent Kharkiv region. They also destroyed a tank, an armored vehicle, 11 vehicles, and an ammunition depot.

The statement highlighted that Russian “West” forces successfully liberated the town of Sobolevka in Kharkiv Oblast and strengthened their positions in Donetsk. These operations resulted in 230 casualties on Ukrainian forces and the destruction of six vehicles, three artillery pieces, five electronic warfare stations, and four ammunition depots.

The report continued with updates on the “South” forces, which improved their positions in the Donetsk Republic. They inflicted 115 casualties on Ukrainian forces and destroyed one vehicle, five artillery pieces, an electronic warfare station, and three ammunition depots.

The statement detailed further advancements by the “Central” forces in the Donetsk Republic and Dnipropetrovsk Oblast in central Ukraine. These forces inflicted more than 390 casualties and destroyed one armored vehicle, seven vehicles, and four artillery pieces.

Additionally, the “East” forces liberated the town of Podbonoye in Donetsk, causing 190 casualties on Ukrainian forces and destroying three armored vehicles, five vehicles, and two artillery pieces.

The statement concluded with developments from the “Dnepr” forces, which continue their advance in the Zaporizhia and Kherson regions of southern Ukraine. They inflicted 70 casualties on Ukrainian forces and destroyed three vehicles, a cannon, seven electronic warfare stations, five ammunition depots, and a fuel depot. The Black Sea Fleet forces also destroyed three unmanned boats, shot down six American-made JADM guided bombs, and downed 298 drones.
