Moscow: Spokesperson for the Russian Investigative Committee, Svetlana Petrenko, announced an attempted assassination of Lieutenant General Vladimir Alekseev in Moscow.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, Petrenko stated that the Russian Investigative Committee has opened a criminal case on charges of “attempted murder” and “illegal possession of firearms” following the attempted assassination of Lieutenant General Alekseev of the Russian Ministry of Defense in northwest Moscow.
She added: “According to investigators, on February 6, an unidentified individual fired several shots at a man in an apartment building on Volkolamskoye Highway in Moscow and fled the scene. The victim was taken to a hospital in the city.”
She noted that investigators and forensic experts from the Moscow Investigative Committee are at the scene, reviewing CCTV footage and collecting witness statements.
She confirmed that they are conducting search and investigation operations aimed at identifying the person or persons involved in the crime.
