Salah al-Din Governor Advocates for Citizen-Focused 2027 Budget


Baghdad: During his participation in a meeting to follow up on the preparation of the 2027 budget, Governor Haitham al-Zahwan stressed the importance of the budget aligning with the needs of the citizens.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Zahwan took part in an expanded meeting chaired by Finance Minister Falih Sari, which aimed to discuss the 2027 program and performance budget. The meeting included officials and representatives from various ministries, governorates, and the Kurdistan Regional Government.



The governor’s media office issued a press release stating that the meeting focused on the stages of budget preparation and the requirements for its completion. Discussions emphasized the necessity of linking financial allocations to development programs, projects, and priorities. Special attention was confirmed for the governorates of Salah al-Din and Diwaniyah, which are expected to benefit from the budget in terms of supporting service and development projects.



Governor al-Zahwan reiterated the significance of aligning the 2027 budget with the needs of the citizens. He highlighted the importance of incorporating the province’s service and development projects and priorities within the financial allocations. This approach, he noted, would aid in accelerating reconstruction and improving service levels. The governor also emphasized the need for ongoing coordination with the federal government to ensure that necessary allocations are secured for priority projects.
