Riyadh: The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has announced plans to convene a joint Arab-Islamic summit in Riyadh next month, specifically on the eleventh, to address ongoing developments in the region. The call for the summit comes amid ongoing tensions and conflicts affecting neighboring countries.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement highlighting the Kingdom’s concerns over the “sinful Israeli aggression” on the occupied Palestinian territories, which has expanded to include actions against the Lebanese Republic. The statement emphasized the serious repercussions of these actions on regional security and stability and reiterated Saudi Arabia’s condemnation of the crimes and violations being committed against the Palestinian people by Israeli occupation authorities, as well as the attacks on Lebanese sovereignty.

The Saudi statement also mentioned that the upcoming summit is an extension of the previous Arab-Islamic summit held in Riyadh on November 11,
2023. It is based on directives from King Salman and efforts by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, the Prime Minister, in collaboration with leaders from Arab and Islamic countries. The summit, scheduled for 9 Jumada al-Awwal 1446 AH corresponding to November 11, 2024, aims to address the ongoing Israeli actions and broader regional developments.
