Riyadh: The Saudi Civil Defense announced on Saturday morning that the danger had passed in Riyadh and Al-Kharj governorates, after issuing alerts through the National Early Warning Platform for Emergencies. The Civil Defense urged residents to continue following its instructions for safety and to completely avoid gathering in groups and taking photographs.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Civil Defense had previously sent alerts to residents of Riyadh and Al-Kharj warning of a potential danger, urging them to remain calm, stay indoors, and move to safe locations away from windows. The instructions also included staying away from open areas and glass, not standing on balconies or rooftops, and moving to the nearest safe building for those outside.

Authorities did not specify the nature of the danger or report any injuries or damage in Riyadh and Al-Kharj. These new alerts came hours after similar warnings were issued for other cities and governorates, including Khamis Mushait, Jeddah, Taif, Yanbu, Al-Ula, Jazan, Farasan, and Abha.

Civil defense officials had urged residents of the areas covered by the warnings to stay away from the impact sites and not to pick up any objects they found at the scene. These developments come amid escalating Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia, coinciding with widening clashes within Yemen and continued tension in the Red Sea and the Bab al-Mandab Strait.
