Riyadh: The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs has stated that the recently signed defense agreement with Pakistan and Turkey is not intended to threaten the security of any country in the region. The ministry emphasized that the agreement does not aim to escalate tensions between any nations.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, a Saudi Foreign Ministry official highlighted in a press release that the agreement does not indicate any intention to form a military alliance or a sectarian or religious bloc. Instead, it is designed to enhance Saudi Arabia's defense capabilities.

The official further clarified that the agreement is not associated with nuclear aspirations or an arms race. The primary objective is to develop sustainable self-reliance capabilities, ensuring that it does not come at the expense of the Kingdom's relations with Gulf, Arab, or international partners.
