Baghdad: A number of wanted individuals and residency violators were arrested in a large-scale security operation in Baghdad. Security forces executed a coordinated operation in the Bataween area of central Baghdad, targeting individuals with outstanding warrants and those violating residency regulations.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry of Interior reported that the operation involved a preemptive campaign focused on inspecting residential buildings, seizing illegal items, and reinforcing the rule of law. The campaign led to the arrest of eight individuals wanted on various legal charges, including one charged with money laundering and financing terrorism. Additionally, 65 residency violators were detained, and a liquor store operating without proper authorization was closed.

The Ministry’s statement emphasized that all arrested individuals are currently detained pending legal proceedings, highlighting the ongoing efforts to maintain security and order in the area.
