Security Forces Conduct Raids in Search of ISIS-Linked Individuals South of Mosul

Mosul: Security forces in Nineveh Governorate launched a large-scale raid campaign in areas south of Mosul, based on intelligence information indicating that ISIS elements had infiltrated the area.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, a Nineveh Police source stated that the operation was initiated following the receipt of accurate information from local intelligence sources and national security agencies. This information reportedly indicated suspicious movements of ISIS-linked elements within the Hammam al-Alil district.

The source further elaborated that the operation was a collaborative effort involving the Nineveh Police, National Security, and Military Intelligence. These forces raided several suspicious locations targeting individuals wanted by the judiciary under arrest warrants issued pursuant to Article 4 of the Terrorism Law.

The source confirmed that the operation has led to the arrest of three individuals suspected of involvement in supporting or harboring members of the terrorist organization. Extensive investigations are currently underway to uncover any potential links to sleeper networks or cells.
