Maysan: The Security Media Cell announced the arrest of 64 suspects from both sides of a tribal dispute and the seizure of large quantities of weapons and ammunition.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, outlaw elements initiated a tribal dispute in Maysan Governorate, prompting security forces in the region to respond firmly to both parties involved. A comprehensive security operation was launched to cordon off the area and conduct extensive search and inspection campaigns. This operation resulted in the arrest of 64 suspects, including those responsible for inciting the dispute and using various weapons, thereby violating the safety and security of citizens and causing distress to children and women during this holy month.

The statement further elaborated that numerous medium and light weapons, along with quantities of ammunition and other materials, were seized from the suspects. The mission was directly supervised by the Maysan Operations Commander and the Police Commander, with the participation of all security agencies.

The statement emphasized that such conflicts tarnish the reputation of Iraqi society, as they are unwarranted, threaten social peace, and divert the attention of security forces from their primary duties related to ensuring the security, sovereignty, and stability of Iraq. The security forces remain committed to taking decisive actions against anyone who threatens security and will continue to enforce legal measures against those who incite tribal conflicts and use weapons and fire bullets illegally on various occasions.
