Baghdad: The Security Media Cell announced the killing of a number of terrorists in an Iraqi airstrike east of Salah al-Din. The operation, which targeted a terrorist hideout in the Balkana Mountains, was executed by the Air Force Falcons using F-16 aircraft.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the airstrike was carried out following qualitative intelligence work by the security forces. It was based on accurate information provided by the Military Intelligence Directorate and was executed under the supervision, follow-up, and planning of the Targeting Cell of the Joint Operations Command.
The statement further clarified that the initial results of the strike showed the elimination of a group of ISIS terrorist members who were present in the hideout at the time of the attack. Additionally, the airstrike resulted in the destruction of weapons, ammunition, equipment, and logistical materials, significantly impeding the operational capabilities of the terrorist group in the region.
