Baghdad: The Security Media Cell announced today the results of the airstrike in the “Al-Zarka” sector within the borders separating Salah al-Din and Kirkuk.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the statement released by the Security Media Cell indicated that the airstrike was carried out by Iraqi F16 aircraft, with precise intelligence provided by the Military Intelligence Directorate. A joint force comprising members of the Special Forces, Eastern Salah al-Din Operations Command, and the Military Intelligence Directorate, under the technical supervision of the Targeting Cell in the Joint Operations Command, initiated a search of the successful airstrike site.
The statement revealed that the operation led to the discovery of seven bodies of terrorists, some of whom were wearing explosive belts. Additionally, various weapons, logistical materials, devices, criminal evidence, and other materials were found. The search process in the targeted area and its surroundings is still ongoing. The Security Media Cell noted that the identities of the terrorists will be determined at a later stage.
The statement further emphasized that the qualitative operations undertaken by the security forces are part of ongoing efforts to eradicate terrorism and its leadership.
