Security Meeting in Basra Focuses on Enhancing Protection for Grand Faw Port

Basra: A security meeting in Basra discussed enhancing the security environment for the Grand Faw Port and its ongoing projects. Director General of Ports, Captain Alaa Al-Agili, stated in a press release: "The meeting was held in the presence of the Chief of Staff of the Army, the Naval Force Command, the Southern Border Command, and several members of the Higher Security Committee. It included a presentation and review of the procedures adopted in the ports sector, particularly the Grand Faw Port and its ongoing projects, and explored ways to strengthen coordination and develop work mechanisms to meet the requirements of the strategic projects currently underway."

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Agili emphasized: "The Minister of Transport, Wahab Al-Hassani, is giving port projects his utmost attention, as they represent the economic lifeline of the country and the backbone of all projects in the Iraqi state. This necessitates redoubled efforts to maintain a secure environment, thereby accelerating the pace of work according to the established timelines."

The Director of Ports pointed out that: "The Grand Faw project is witnessing a significant increase in the pace of completion at its various stages, and requires coordination and integration with relevant and specialized sectors."
