Seminar in Najaf Advocates for Clean and Renewable Energy Projects


Najaf: A seminar highlighting the importance of clean and renewable energy initiatives was recently organized by the Najaf Environment Directorate, in collaboration with the Educational Supervision Department of the provincial education directorate. The event, titled “Sustainable Development and Renewable Energy: The Optimal Solution to Reduce the Negative Effects of Climate Change,” focused on promoting sustainable practices to mitigate climate-related challenges.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, Haider Faleh, the Director of the Climate Change Division at the Najaf Environment Directorate, shared insights on the significance of sustainable development and renewable energy sources such as solar, wind, and water power. He emphasized their role in diminishing the adverse effects of climate change, including natural disasters like earthquakes, floods, flash floods, as well as epidemics and diseases.



The seminar concluded with several key recommendations. Foremost among them was the encouragement of clean and environmentally friendly renewable energy projects. It also emphasized the importance of spreading environmental awareness and culture throughout society. The seminar organizers advocated for the repetition of such educational events in the future, underlining their contribution to resolving challenges and enhancing collaborative efforts among governmental institutions and civil society organizations.
