Washington: The Democratic Minority Leader in the U.S. Senate, Chuck Schumer, affirmed that U.S. President Donald Trump does not have the constitutional authority to use military force in the Caribbean without congressional authorization.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Schumer stated in press remarks that any attempt to use force in the Caribbean without Congressional approval would lead to legislative actions. He emphasized that Democrats are prepared to pass a resolution to block any such move by the administration.

Schumer highlighted that the American public is not in favor of being involved in new, indefinite military conflicts.
