Salah al-din: The Senior Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior, Dr. Hussein Al-Awadi, has announced a significant shift in focus from combating terrorism to addressing crime. During a press conference in Salah al-Din, which Dr. Al-Awadi visited to evaluate the current security landscape, he affirmed the government’s strategy to restrict weapons exclusively to state control.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Dr. Al-Awadi revealed that over six million weapons are targeted under the government’s current plan. He stressed the Ministry of Interior’s future responsibility for maintaining security across all governorates, a transition set to take place in the coming months.
