Amarah: Seven defendants have been arrested in connection with a forgery case involving the illegal registration of 13 plots of land belonging to the Amarah Municipality. These plots were located in the Abu Rumana and Maghriba areas and were found to have been registered through manipulated procedures.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Integrity Court in Maysan revealed that the investigation led to the arrest of seven suspects. Among them are six employees from the Amarah Municipality and one from the Real Estate Registration Department. The arrests were made in collaboration with the Integrity Commission and relevant security forces.

The suspects are being detained under Article 340 of the Penal Code, as stated by the Supreme Judicial Council’s media office. The presiding judge noted that the investigation exposed significant manipulation in the registration process, leading to these arrests.
