Diyala: Military Intelligence detachments have arrested seven foreigners who were attempting to illegally enter Diyala Governorate today, Saturday. The arrests were made during a strategic operation aimed at curbing the unauthorized entry of foreign workers into the region.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Intelligence Media released a statement detailing the operation. The initiative was part of ongoing efforts to tackle the issue of illegal foreign worker entry and to support operations securing the borders. Utilizing precise intelligence from the 1st Infantry Division’s Intelligence Division, and in collaboration with the 53rd Infantry Brigade’s Intelligence Department, a carefully planned ambush was executed at the Martyr (Ali Saleh) checkpoint. This resulted in the interception of a vehicle carrying seven foreigners who were concealed inside, along with its driver, as they attempted to breach Iraqi territory.

The statement further mentioned that the apprehended individuals, along with the vehicle and driver, were subsequently handed over to the relevant authorities following established procedures.
