Islamabad: A Pakistani security source reported today that several people were killed and wounded in a suicide bombing inside a mosque in the Pakistani capital, Islamabad, during Friday prayers.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the explosion targeted worshippers inside the mosque, which was packed with people, resulting in deaths and injuries. The source added that Pakistani security forces arrived at the scene and began their field operations and initial investigations to apprehend the perpetrators, amidst a state of high alert in the area.
