Kirkuk: Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Dr. Shakhwan Abdullah, has extended his condolences to the families who lost loved ones in the recent floods and torrential rains in the Chamchamal and Laylan districts of Kirkuk Governorate.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Abdullah has appealed to the federal government to provide compensation to citizens impacted by the floods in these areas as well as other affected regions in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region. He has emphasized the need for government institutions, service providers, and provincial administrations to mobilize rescue teams and ramp up efforts to mitigate the threats posed by ongoing heavy rainfall, especially as the winter season approaches.
