Baghdad / NINA / – Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Shakhwan Abdullah Ahmed, discussed this evening, Thursday, with his counterpart, Deputy Speaker of the German Parliament, Petra Pau, the refugee and immigrant crisis, and global initiatives aimed at containing its repercussions and the resulting economic problems.
A statement by the media office of Shakhwan Abdullah said, “During the meeting, they discussed the importance of joint cooperation in the field of energy in order to achieve sustainable development and integration in the future.”
He pointed out, “Abdullah appreciated Germany’s supportive stances, government and people, towards the Iraqi people in tribulations and crises, and called for the need to continue providing support to Iraq to end the file of the displaced people, especially since there are currently more than one million displaced people in the Kurdistan region.”
He stressed “the need to strengthen parliamentary cooperation and communication between the two Parliaments, and exchange visits and experiences in the field of national legislation and laws.”/ End
