Sharjah: The Sharjah Calligraphy Biennial, now in its 12th edition, will take place next October under the theme "Balance" and will celebrate three distinguished figures: calligrapher Ali Al Hammadi from the UAE, Moroccan academic of Arabic calligraphy Belaid Hamidi, and Egyptian calligrapher and visual artist Khalifa Al Shimi. On the event's inaugural day, solo exhibitions for each honoree will open in the "Calligraphy Square," presenting selections from their artistic journeys and contributions to the evolution of Arabic calligraphy. These exhibitions will remain accessible to the public for the duration of the Biennial.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Mohammed Ibrahim Al Qasir, Director of the Cultural Affairs Department at the Sharjah Department of Culture and Director of the Forum, expressed that the Forum continues to establish its presence as a global cultural and artistic platform. It celebrates the aesthetics of Arabic calligraphy and fosters dialogue between varied creative experiences. He emphasized that the achievements of the Forum in its previous editions underscore its prominent position on the global map of Arabic calligraphy.
