Sheep Infected With Foot-And-Mouth Disease Seized At Safwan Border Crossing

Safwan: Sheep infected with foot-and-mouth disease were seized at the Safwan border crossing, coming from Kuwait.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, a security source stated that the Safwan Customs Police Station, in cooperation with the Safwan Border Crossing Directorate, intercepted a vehicle carrying 50 sheep. These sheep, originating from Kuwait, violated import regulations and conditions due to their infection with foot-and-mouth disease, as confirmed by the veterinary quarantine report at the Safwan crossing.

The security source further mentioned that a formal seizure report was prepared. This report aims to present the investigative documents to the competent investigating judge for further proceedings.
