Baghdad: The Secretary-General of the Asa’ib Ahl al-Haq Movement, Sheikh Qais al-Khazali, met with Mohammed al-Hassan, the Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in Iraq, underscoring the importance of ensuring the integrity of the elections and establishing a conducive environment for them.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the media office of the Asa’ib Ahl al-Haq Movement released a statement indicating that Sheikh Qais al-Khazali hosted Mohammed al-Hassan in his office on Wednesday. The discussions covered political and security developments in Iraq, as well as regional issues, notably the recent Zionist aggression against the Islamic Republic of Iran and its implications for regional stability.
In the context of the upcoming elections, Khazali and Hassan emphasized the necessity of maintaining election integrity and fostering a suitable environment that bolsters public confidence in the democratic process.
