Baghdad: The Secretary-General of Asa’ib Ahl al-Haq, Sheikh Qais al-Khazali, received a delegation from the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) led by the Deputy Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Qubad Talabani, at his office in Baghdad today.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, a statement from al-Khazali’s office indicated that Qubad Talabani extended his congratulations to Sheikh al-Khazali on the victory of the Sadiqun Movement and the successful electoral process. In return, Sheikh al-Khazali congratulated Talabani on the PUK’s electoral success, acknowledging the progress seen in this year’s democratic process.

The meeting highlighted the importance of mutual interests between Baghdad and the Kurdistan Region and the need to maintain a unified national stance to serve the best interests of Iraq. Discussions also covered the latest developments regarding the next phase and the urgency of forming a new government.

Sheikh al-Khazali emphasized that the current stage necessitates genuine cooperation among all political forces, adherence to national principles, and working in a spirit of partnership to ensure the country’s stability and meet the aspirations of the Iraqi people.
