Baghdad: Sheikh Humam Hammoudi, Head of the Supreme Islamic Council, affirmed today, Monday, the national forces’ commitment to ensuring their decisions are Iraqi-independent and reflect their vision for building a strong government. A statement from Sheikh Hammoudi’s office indicated that “Sheikh Humam Hammoudi, head of the Supreme Islamic Council, received the Italian Ambassador to Baghdad, Nicol² Fontana.”
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the statement added that the meeting addressed “international developments, the Iraqi political forces’ efforts to form the remaining presidencies, and the importance of Iraq’s democratic experience in strengthening its stability, the region’s stability, and expanding opportunities for engagement with Europe and the world.” Sheikh Hamoudi affirmed, according to the statement, “the national forces’ commitment to ensuring that their decisions are internally Iraqi, drawing upon their experiences and embodying their vision for building a strong government capable of addressing the various challenges facing the country.” He explained that “harmony and a spirit of dialogue have generated significant stability and international confidence, which has encouraged the transfer of detained terrorists from Syria to Iraq, in addition to increasing international competition for investment opportunities.”
He also expressed “his pride in the deep-rooted Iraqi-Italian relations and his keenness to expand cooperation and investments in the country.”
