Baghdad: Head of the Supreme Islamic Council, Sheikh Hammam Hamoudi, declared that the world will witness the fervor of Iraqis during the funeral procession of the martyr Sayyed Ali Khamenei, emphasizing that he is the symbol of this era in confronting oppression and tyranny.

According to Iraqi News Agency, Sheikh Hamoudi made these remarks during the Dialogue Forum, as noted in a statement from his media office. He stated that Iraqis will not forsake those who supported them, and the world will observe their passion during the funeral of Sayyed Khamenei. He highlighted that the martyred figure is a beacon for the current era, championing the cause against oppression and tyranny in the tradition of Imam Hussein, advocating for freedom, dignity, and justice.

Sheikh Hamoudi further elaborated that Sayyed Khamenei embodied asceticism, courage, patience, knowledge, and a strategic political grasp of adversaries’ tactics, which enabled the building of a state strengthened by its resources and honored by its people. He noted that the martyr’s sacrifice has revitalized the Iranian Revolution with a renewed vigor and substantial public involvement, sending a powerful message of resistance to opponents.

He also mentioned that Sayyed Khamenei held a deep affection for Iraq and its people, supported the Islamic Revolution in Iraq, and made significant sacrifices for the country, including providing military support to the Popular Mobilization Forces against ISIS. Sheikh Hamoudi emphasized that the Iraqi people’s traditions of chivalry and gratitude will be evident in their participation in welcoming and accompanying the funeral procession of Sayyed Khamenei.

Sheikh Hamoudi concluded by highlighting Sayyed Khamenei’s closeness to the cities of Qom and Najaf, and his efforts to maintain harmony and unity between them.
