Karbala: The head of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq, Sheikh Humam Hamoudi, met this morning with Sheikh Mohammadi Golpayegani, director of the office of Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, in the holy city of Karbala.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, a statement from Sheikh Hamoudi’s office stated that the visit was to check on Sheikh Golpayegani’s health and to offer congratulations on the occasion of the Persian New Year, which coincides with Eid al-Fitr, to the people, leadership, and government of the Islamic Republic.

Sheikh Hamoudi also conveyed the greetings of the Iraqi people to the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, wishing him continued success and the Iranian people further progress and prosperity.
