Baghdad: The head of the Supreme Islamic Council, Sheikh Humam Hamoudi, sent a telegram of condolence on Sunday to the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, on the death of his father.

According to Iraqi News Agency, Sheikh Hamoudi's media office stated in a press release that "the head of the Supreme Islamic Council of Iraq, Sheikh Humam Hamoudi, sent a telegram of condolence to Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Emir of the sisterly State of Qatar."

The statement further detailed that "Sheikh Humam Hamoudi expressed in his telegram his deepest condolences and sincere sympathy to the Emir of Qatar on the death of his father, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani."
