Sheikh Hamoudi Stresses the Need to End the Political Deadlock

Baghdad: Head of the Supreme Islamic Council, Sheikh Humam Hamoudi, stressed today, Monday, the necessity of ending the political deadlock and ensuring a smooth and secure transfer of power.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, a statement by Sheikh Hamoudi's office indicated that Sheikh Humam Hamoudi, head of the Supreme Islamic Council, received a delegation from the parliamentary bloc of the Reconstruction and Development Coalition, headed by Bahaa al-Araji, and discussed with them the directions of the political process to complete the formation of the remaining branches of government. The meeting emphasized the importance of maintaining a unified stance within the framework and the role of Parliament in protecting the interests of the people from any potential repercussions.

Sheikh Hamoudi affirmed that the responsibility of the people's representatives lies in adopting wise and courageous stances to impose the free national will, end the political deadlock as quickly as possible, and ensure a smooth and secure transfer of power, in accordance with the priority of higher interests and the nature of the challenges. He also warned of the consequences of disrupting the smooth functioning of state institutions and the interests of the people, especially in light of the serious challenges facing the region.

Hamoudi stressed the importance of strengthening harmony within the framework and transforming it into opportunities to enhance stability, serve the citizens, meet their demands, and bolster their confidence that the coming phase will be a turning point for reform, change, and the advancement of the country.
