Baghdad: Head of the Supreme Islamic Council, Sheikh Humam Hamoudi, engaged in discussions with Lee Joon-il, the South Korean Ambassador to Baghdad, focusing on enhancing bilateral relations and leveraging the trust between Iraq and South Korea to propel Iraq's development in the future. According to National Iraqi News Agency, Sheikh Hamoudi underscored the significance of adopting the Korean experience as an exemplary model for economic and technological advancement. He highlighted the critical need for increased Korean investment in Iraq's agricultural and water sectors, as well as in areas like artificial intelligence and digital transformation. These investments are seen as pivotal to supporting Iraq's efforts to modernize its institutions and establish a diversified economy rooted in knowledge and technology. Additionally, Sheikh Hamoudi emphasized the importance of expanding cultural exchanges between the two nations. Sheikh Hamoudi expressed optimism about broadening cooperation and increasing the K orean presence in Iraq, particularly as the country is in the process of forming a new government with a focus on ambitious reform and development priorities.
