Baghdad:Iraq’s Security Media Cell has denied reports of the release of large numbers of individuals classified as terrorists from prisons in Erbil and Duhok, with purported transfers to Kirkuk province.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Security Media Cell issued a statement dismissing these claims, which were attributed to a politician and spread by various media outlets and social media platforms. The cell emphasized that no official Iraqi security authority had confirmed such reports.

The statement urged the public and media to rely on verified information and official sources. It also highlighted the ongoing efforts of security agencies to monitor terrorist threats and pursue remnants of militant organizations.
