Basra: The engineering and technical staff of the General Company for Electricity Production in the South have successfully completed comprehensive maintenance work on the hot track of Unit 1 at the Al-Najeebiya Gas Power Plant. This unit has a production capacity of 125 megawatts.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the plant's director, Hassanein Youssef Hussein, stated in a press release that the maintenance work was executed entirely by Iraqi personnel. The work was completed with a level of precision and speed that is comparable to reputable foreign companies.
Hussein emphasized that the return of Unit 1 to service will play a significant role in stabilizing the plant and improving production efficiency. This improvement is expected to positively impact the increase in electricity supply hours for citizens in the near future.
