Sovereignty Alliance Blames Baghdad Security Authorities for Assassination of Leader

Baghdad: The Sovereignty Alliance has held the security authorities in Baghdad fully responsible for the assassination of their leader and Baghdad Provincial Council member, Safaa al-Mashhadani. He was killed in a targeted attack on his vehicle north of the capital last night.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Alliance mourned the loss of al-Mashhadani, labeling the attack as a cowardly crime and an extension of a broader strategy of exclusion and targeting by forces wielding uncontrolled weapons and terrorism. These forces are accused of attempting to silence national voices.

The Alliance highlighted al-Mashhadani’s dedication to his cause, noting his efforts and struggles for the people and city of Tarmiyah against both terrorism and uncontrolled weaponry. His commitment earned him widespread respect and affection.

In response to the assassination, the Sovereignty Alliance emphasized the irreplaceable nature of their loss and called on the government to initiate an urgent and transparent investigation. The goal is to identify those responsible and ensure they face justice, thereby upholding the state’s prestige and safeguarding the lives of loyal citizens who serve their country.
