Madrid: Spain expresses its concern over the deteriorating situation in Lebanon and condemns the Israeli aggression. Spain expressed its deep concern over the serious deterioration of the situation in Lebanon, particularly the Israeli aggression against the capital, Beirut, which targeted densely populated areas and caused a large number of civilian casualties.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in a statement, affirmed its complete rejection of the illegal and unjustified order issued by the Israeli occupation forces to evacuate civilians south of the Zahrani River, describing the order as "a completely disproportionate measure that contravenes international law."
The ministry demanded that the occupation authorities immediately cease these actions and fully respect Lebanon's sovereignty and territorial integrity. Amid the worsening humanitarian catastrophe, Spain reiterated its solidarity with Lebanon and provided a new financial aid package of 9 million euros to alleviate the suffering of the Lebanese people and the refugee crisis.
Furthermore, Spain affirmed its full commitment to implementing Security Council Resolution 1701 and its support for the mission of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), calling on all parties to respect the security of the deployed UN forces.
