Baghdad: The Speaker of Parliament held a meeting today, Sunday, to discuss several topics related to the work of the Council, most notably the discussion of a number of important draft laws that will be included on the agendas of its sessions in the coming period.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, a statement from the Speaker’s office indicated that ways to enhance the Council’s oversight role were also discussed, in order to improve legislative and oversight performance.
