Baghdad: The heads of the State of Law Coalition and the House of Representatives have jointly underscored the necessity of activating legislative mechanisms. Nouri al-Maliki, head of the State of Law Coalition, and Mahmoud al-Mashhadani, Speaker of the Council of Representatives, met to discuss the importance of enhancing legislative functions and cooperation among political forces. According to National Iraqi News Agency, a statement from al-Maliki's media office confirmed that the meeting took place at al-Maliki's office. Both leaders emphasized the need for coordination and collaboration between political forces and the Presidency of the Council of Representatives. They discussed the urgency of introducing laws and legislation that cater to the citizens' needs and uphold the country's supreme interests. During the meeting, al-Mashhadani expressed a commitment to advancing the tasks of the Presidency of the Council of Representatives. He thanked al-Maliki for his congratulations and support, commending h is stance on supporting the political process and democratic experience within the country.
