Khartoum: Sudanese and Spanish officials have reached an agreement to collaborate on convening a United Nations session aimed at discussing the repercussions of ongoing conflicts. Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani engaged in telephone talks with Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez on Monday, focusing on the security developments in the region, the impact of military operations on regional and international security, and their effects on global supply chains.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, a statement from the Sudanese Prime Minister's office emphasized the importance of strengthening coordination and integrating international community efforts to ensure an immediate halt to escalation and to manage repercussions before they become uncontrollable. Both leaders agreed that constructive dialogue is crucial for achieving de-escalation, preventing the conflict from spreading, and preserving regional and international stability. They also highlighted the need to address humanitarian and economic consequences to safeguard global peace and security.

The officials concurred on joint efforts to convene a session at the United Nations General Assembly to discuss the war's repercussions and to limit the conflict's expansion. Prime Minister Al-Sudani underscored Iraq's consistent warnings about the dangers of escalation in the region, which could lead to chaos, instability, and the rise of terrorism. He cautioned that the conflict's repercussions would extend beyond the region, posing threats to Europe and international peace and security.

Spanish Prime Minister Sanchez called for concerted efforts to achieve just and peaceful solutions to ongoing disputes and to work towards enhancing the region's security and stability. He commended Iraq's positions and efforts in addressing these critical issues.
