Baghdad: The head of the Reconstruction and Development Coalition, Mohammed Shia al-Sudani, welcomed a high-level delegation from the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) on Sunday. The delegation, led by Hoshyar Zebari, also included Majid Shenkali, Faris Issa, Mohsen al-Saadoun, Shakhwan Abdullah, and Naznin Mandlawi.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the meeting focused on discussing the latest political and security developments along with the current regional situation. Al-Sudani underscored the critical need for political forces to maintain coordination and unify their positions to effectively confront challenges. He also highlighted the urgency of expediting the cabinet vote and emphasized the importance of collaboration between the Reconstruction and Development parliamentary bloc and the KDP in enacting legislation aimed at benefiting citizens and bolstering the reconstruction and development process.
Both parties agreed on supporting the government and its ministerial agenda as a crucial step towards achieving political stability and fulfilling national responsibilities. Hoshyar Zebari, representing the Kurdistan Region leadership, expressed their commitment to backing the government in implementing its program. He emphasized the necessity for unified stances to address regional issues through dialogue, advocating for the avoidance of escalation.
