Beirut: South Africa's Mamelodi Sundowns secured a resounding 3-0 victory over Mali's Stade Malien in the first leg of their CAF Champions League quarter-final tie, played on Friday evening. Khuliso Modao opened the scoring for Sundowns in the 34th minute, followed by Brian Onyango's goal in the 54th minute, and Ikram Reiners sealed the win in the 74th minute.

The winner of the Pyramids FC (defending champions) vs. FAR Rabat (Morocco) match will face the winner of the RS Berkane vs. Al-Hilal (Sudan) match. Meanwhile, the winner of the Al-Ahly (Egypt) vs. Esp©rance de Tunis (Tunisia) match will play the winner of the Sundowns vs. Stade Malien tie in the semi-finals.
