Baghdad: The Supreme Judicial Council has announced that a total of 24,754 individuals have been released under the General Amnesty Law, following the implementation of the Amendment to Amnesty Law No. 27 of 2016. These releases occurred over a specified period from May 25, 2025, to May 29, 2025, across the country.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Supreme Judicial Council provided detailed statistics revealing that 1,534 individuals were released from prisons and detention centers across all governorates during the specified period. This group included both detainees and convicts who were eligible under the law. Additionally, 5,896 individuals, who were either on bail, subject to arrest warrants, or convicted in absentia, were identified during this period. The financial recovery during this time totaled 3,494,402,206 dinars.

The statement further clarified that when these figures are added to the previously announced statistics from May 22, 2025, the total number of those released in accordanc
e with the law reached 24,754. Furthermore, the total number of individuals against whom arrest warrants were issued stands at 5,896, while 111,017 individuals have been arrested, summoned, or sentenced in absentia. The cumulative amount recovered is reported to be 20,148,150,798 dinars.
