Kirkuk: The first phase of a project to install surveillance cameras in Kirkuk has begun to enhance security in the city.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, Kirkuk Police Commander Major General Fattah al-Khafaji announced that the project is being executed in two phases. The initial phase involves the installation of 450 surveillance cameras along the ring road.
Furthermore, the second phase will see the addition of 4,698 more cameras, including 78 speed radar cameras, aimed at reducing traffic accidents in the area. Al-Khafaji also mentioned plans for a subsequent project, which will involve the installation of 30 thermal imaging cameras around Kirkuk, further strengthening the city’s security infrastructure.
