Jakarta:Anbar The Federal Intelligence and Investigation Agency (FIIA) has arrested a suspect involved in operating an illegal factory that produced adulterated food products in Anbar province.
According to Iraqi News Agency, the operation is part of FIIA’s ongoing efforts to protect the national economy and ensure the safety of citizens’ food supply against illegal profiteering and manipulation. The agency’s organized crime division in Anbar apprehended the suspect, who was managing a facility that produced and distributed adulterated food products with counterfeit trademarks, misleading consumers into believing these were internationally sourced.
The operation was based on precise intelligence revealing industrial fraud and commercial counterfeiting activities at the facility. Judicial approvals were obtained prior to the raid, resulting in the seizure of the factory and the arrest of its owner, who was caught in the act of counterfeiting by packaging food products in containers with fake trademarks.
During interrogation, the suspect confessed to purchasing food products, repackaging them, and marketing them as internationally branded items. This confession has since been ratified judicially.
