Raqqa: The Syrian Army and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) have agreed to de-escalate the situation in the southeastern Raqqa countryside.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, sources close to the Syrian government forces revealed that an agreement was reached between the Syrian Ministry of Defense and the SDF to cease fire and halt the mutual shelling and targeting in the town of Maadan in the eastern Raqqa countryside. This decision follows recent escalations in the Maadan area.

The front lines had witnessed infiltration attempts and shelling with various types of heavy and medium weapons over the past two days. The clashes included drone strikes and were some of the fiercest between the two sides, resulting in deaths and injuries. The Syrian army reportedly recaptured positions that had been infiltrated by SDF elements, with the confrontations leading to the deaths of two Syrian army soldiers and injuries to nine others.
