Ankara: Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad Hassan al-Shaibani will pay a working visit to Turkey on Thursday, during which he will meet with his counterpart, Hakan Fidan.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, diplomatic sources at the Turkish Foreign Ministry have indicated that the two ministers are expected to conduct a comprehensive assessment of the multifaceted efforts undertaken with Turkish support to achieve lasting stability and security in Syria. The discussions will focus on enhancing Syria's counterterrorism capabilities and the further development of cooperation with Turkey within an institutional framework.
The Turkish Foreign Minister is also expected to stress Turkey's rejection of Israel's policies and practices that obstruct efforts to achieve stability in Syria. In addition, discussions will cover Turkey's diplomatic efforts to mediate a ceasefire between the United States and Iran, as well as the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz to ensure lasting peace in the region.
