Syrian Interior Ministry Announces Dismantling of ISIS Terrorist Cell in Aleppo


Aleppo: The Syrian Interior Ministry announced on Tuesday the dismantling of a terrorist cell belonging to the ISIS terrorist organization in the Afrin region, northwest of Aleppo Governorate in northern Syria.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) quoted the head of internal security in Aleppo Governorate, Colonel Muhammad Abdul Ghani, as stating that the dismantling operation was executed by internal security units in collaboration with the General Intelligence Directorate.

The Syrian security official revealed that the specialized units successfully dismantled the cell and arrested several members involved in hostile acts aimed at undermining security and stability.

Abdul Ghani noted that the operation also led to the seizure of large quantities of weapons and ammunition, including explosive devices, detonators, and manufacturing equipment, along with materials used in preparing explosives.

He highlighted that this operation is part of ongoing security efforts to
combat terrorism and protect citizens. Syrian security units are committed to continuing their efforts until all terrorist cells are eliminated and security and stability are reestablished in Aleppo Governorate and the entire country.
